Do People Really Want The Truth? | An Honest First Date

I stopped by the Single Black Male blog today partially out of boredom and partially out of curiosity about what new witty content they’ve posted.  Shout-out to singleblackmale.org – they didn’t disappoint.

If people expressed how they truly feel after first dates the world would be a boring place for women and men would be in heaven no doubt.  Women – our girl chat content would be slashed by 80%.  Part of the fun in dating is the mystery, the guessing, the what ifs, the hell naw no he didn’ts – it’s pretty much 90% of what black women talk about with each other (…and 80% of statistics are made up on the spot), you can’t take that away!

This video is hilarious on so many levels.  If I were the girl in this video my spiel would go something like this:

“Can I be honest?  You are extremely sexy and I can totally see myself trying some new tricks I learned from unnamed sources on you.  Buuuut I have no intentions of bedding you before marriage.  However, I would like to continue relishing in the perks of dating – good convo, free food, excitement, attention – if that’s cool with you.  Also, are you gay?  Because you had a few instances of limp-wrist at the dinner table and I know that DL epidemic is going around.  Otherwise, I’d love to continue getting to know you if you have a personal relationship with God and can work around all these stipulations.  If not, you can still take me out and tell me I’m beautiful for fun.  Not a problem.”

  1. Hahahahaha! This was definately entertaining!!! Yes, if the world could be honest, it would be a different place BUT I still would like some level of honesty. If I go out on a date with a guy, I would like for him to just tell me if he's interested in me or not. Let's save time, energy and effort! Stop calling and texting me for entertainment! I'm tired of men giving "false hope." If you are interested, TELL ME and if you are not, JUST TELL ME! I truly believe you know everything you need to know about someone on the first date to determine whether or not they have what it takes to move forward. Oftentimes, women avoid the signs that tell us to leave that NEGRO alone because we want attention, compliments and free meals. Is it really worth it?
